Welcome to Nicandra's

Came here for a lateish dinner on a Monday night. Menu is very straight forward. There were eight fresh pasta based dishes with options such as agnolotti, fettucini, and linguine. There was one side which was charred broccolini that night. Food was ready pretty quickly. It was savory and homey. Nice balances of spiciness with creaminess and nuttiness. Thoughtful yet approachable style. A few inconveniences. There is no restroom for customers. There is no tap water. No alcohol is permitted. They were also out of a few items at the time which wasn't ideal given the already petite menu.

My friend and I came in 30 minutes before closing on a Friday night to grab some pasta to go. We got the ricotta filled agnolotti with shrimp, the linguine cacio e pepe, and their special, pork ribs with broccolini and mashed potatoes. Everything was fresh and delicious with good portion sizes, the pasta cooked perfectly. The star was the ribs; sweet, sticky, fall off the bone goodness. Definitely try this one out! I will definitely be coming back to try some more dishes!

I love Nicandra's. It's such a gem and literally the best pasta i've ever had! They are a "grab and go" establishment but do have seating available without service. My favorite is the linguine nero but the agnolotti is also delicious. Actually, everything is delicious. the pasta is SO FRESH. They used to have bigger portions for a higher price when they did table service but the portions now are still huge and for cheaper! Another thing I would HIGHLY recommend is the pork ribs. They are fall off the bone and melt in your mouth. I have yet to eat better pork ribs in my lifetime. I love nicandras and hope they are in the neighborhood forever. It's such a cute unassuming place with AMAZING food. If anyone asks me about my favorite restaurant in bushwick, my answer will always be nicandras.

I went to this restaurant about 4 years ago, and Im finally finishing my review. I still dream about this place! Because of Nicandra, I seek our squid ink pasta and burrata in every city. These two fishes changed my life, and I am forever grateful. I plan to go back in one month, and Im hoping with all my might it is just as delicious as I remember it being!

This is by far the best Italian food I've ever had. The owners are so down to earth and are passionate about what they do. It is a small, unassuming restaurant and you have to bring your own liquor, which honestly makes it feel even cozier. This is the spot I will take every person who's visiting me! And congrats to the owners who just had a baby :)

Their pasta is outstandingly delicious! I traveled a lot in Europe and their pasta tasted better than most restaurants in Europe. I was so shocked by the flavor and comprehension of the dishes. My friend is Italian and he was shocked at how good it is too. This is a must-try in New York. If it's not my friend who took me to this spot I will not know about this place. I'm so grateful. I heard this is a husband & wife restaurant, the husband is the chef and the wife is the server. I love it and I think it's so cute! They're super friendly and attentive. If you're in NYC, you have to try this.

Nicandra's is an instant must-visit dinner spot in our neighborhood. It's a really great dinner/date spot with delicious top-notch food and zero pretentiousness. We came here randomly on a Sunday afternoon for a quick dinner. They were able to offer us an outdoor seat for two without a reservation. (However, a reservation is highly recommended, especially indoor seating). It is a BYOB but they do offer free bottles of water. We started with Espresso Glazed Pork Ribs with micro watercress - the perfect blend of sweet and savory. It literally falls off the bone onto your utensils. An amazing starter dish that sets the right tone for the meal! For our main course, we had Fettuccine with Wild Boar Shoulder, chipotle sauce & golden raisins AND Scialatielli Lamb Ragù with asparagus & roasted red pepper. The Scialatielli dish had the right spice kick that was subtle and flavourful. The Fettuccine dish, again, excellent combination of savory and sweet. Overall, it was PERFECTION! The pasta was well-prepared and the dishes themselves were well proportioned and satisfying. They really nail the flavor palate! The service was efficient with very personable wait staff. We didn't have to wait long for our food. We literally dined in about an hour. This place is definitely great for a dinner for two or a slightly larger group ordering family style. Our only regret is that we didn't have dessert but we will back definitely! Just a COVID note, we were given plastic utensils with every course. However, the outside dining was simple but very pleasant!

A great little date spot. Very small, intimate dining room. Low-lit at night (not great for food pictures). The pasta dishes are very good. We did have to ask for some salt, but that was all that was missing. The portions are smaller than you'd expect from a chain restaurant but larger than something you'd get from a Michelin star place. It strikes a happy medium, and, honestly, it's probably the amount of pasta you should eat during a meal (coming from a serial pasta-overeater). This is definitely a place you want to make a reservation for on a Friday night or weekend. Service is friendly. Wait times for food are reasonable. When we went, the squid ink pasta was sold out. It seems like a hot item, so make a reservation and go early!

I have become a regular here because the food is consistently amazing and it's not typical pasta dishes. I love any of the shrimp or the wild boar entrees. Everything is very fresh including the pasta and also visually stunning. The espresso ribs and the burrata with spicy honey are outta this world. Last but not least we get the chocolate mousse every time we come and it does not disappoint! Heated outdoor dining during covid too.
